Kontra Chess Beta Program

Hi all, I'm founder of Kontra Chess, currently in a closed beta. I'm looking for players who'd like try the platform and play on it, and there will be plenty of incentives for those who do. I don't want to write too much about it here, but I can say that the platform aims to position chess as an eSport, and will allow for many more chess players to earn money playing chess as their profession. If you'd like to learn more you can visit www.kontrachess.com and register for our beta. Thanks and best!

What is it? The webpage is just a sign in/register page, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't like registering for stuff willy nilly when I don't even know what I'm registering for.
Understandable! Well, we are in closed beta, and pretty afraid of being "me-too'd" by existing game sites.. I can tell you that it incorporates an in-game betting system which allows players to double the stakes and put the question to their opponent: either resign and lose the pot, or play on for double. It's a very exciting way to play and comes from a style of chess played in Budapest, Hungary. We will have the options to play for both real and fake currency, though now only the soft currency version is available.
Double or resign? Online currency?

Rejoice, for chesscube.com is back!

Seriously though, where is your source code published?
Haha, @thibault.. It's nothing like chesscube, actually... I'll give you a tour if you like! Just send me your email in a private message, so I can get you approved. Then you can come back to this thread and give your honest review of it.
Your site does not seem to use HTTPS. I'm not going to register on a site that doesn't take basic security measures.
This seems like a cool idea, but now cheating becomes relevant, how do you stop it?
I'm sure a similar site was discussed before (not yours, but a similar idea), and yes cheating is a HUGE problem especially when real money gets involved, as you can't reverse a transaction if somebody wins, and then is found to be cheating 2 weeks later.
@Paulcarrero At first, this was one of our biggest concerns for the platform, now it's becoming one of our biggest selling points.. Our solution to cheating is currently in development, and though I can't give details about it, it will be the most complete and effective anti cheat system out there. I can say that currently, cheat detection uses 2 main points of data for comparison and ours will use 3. Added to this will be a deep learning AI algorithm that will automatically learn to identify and flag suspicious games. When It's complete, it will make headlines in the chess world. :)

Thanks for your feedback, switching to HTTPS is on our roadmap as a priority for sure, we wouldn’t ask our users to share any sensitive information with us which would put them at risk.

We are not asking for any sensitive information yet, there is no payment option or anything else like that, also if one is on trusted network (home) doesn’t make a huge difference.
