worst possible day of my life

There is an infinite amount of possibilities. I always strive to improve and push farther... just remember that everything is possible and try not to set limits.

I will always be happy with this game... 20 cpl, 56 moves vs a 2400 ... I made one slight blunder (Rook takes instead of bishop takes, on f7) but with 4 pawns on the kingside it was still winning by a lot.

It's all just how much you study and practice and then how well you play, but if you don't study in between games you will generally get worse and play worse.

I feel that throwing anything out as unimportant, eventually lead to throwing the rest out as well. I feel similar to a comment Dubov made: "he has just made a very big mistake, and he will lose a very important game." To him, the game he was playing right then is important. Bullet seems frustrating at first, because it is so easy to make mistakes, but if everything is lined up (calm, focused, determined, have been studying etc) then it's possible to play better and better.

Of course the other philosophy is good too: what matters is winning, not playing a perfect game.

I do agree about ultrabullet... if I'm in the right mood (i.e. if 1 minute is feeling too slow) then I can play 30 seconds and be happy, but I can't ever get I to 15 seconds.

And if I'm not there, in the mindset to play 1 minute well, then I will play longer time controls.

But to me the two things that matter are: playing my best and, hopefully, winning. I always try to play the best I am able to play. For instance if you become really good at bullet, this can transfer into other games if you care to. I.e., if you are playing at the level of 3,000 on bullet, then it's pretty unlikely you'll be bad at more lengthy time controls. And without playing accurately, i.e. very well, there is no chance of playing at a high level in bullet.

In a word, there's infinite levels and chess is fun.

And? It's bullet and ultra-bullet. Who cares? Get a good nights sleep, and you will win back those points tomorrow.
