You Don't Get to Know Who Won the Titled Arena, Sorry.

I think it's awesome that Lichess provides people privacy. I would guess there are some chess.com sponsored players who wouldn't be allowed to play unless it was anonymous.

I just want to see the best possible chess, if the players are comfortable that's awesome.

Obviously for big tournaments, for large cash prizes then people should have to identify, but for these Monthly Arena's IMO we should let players hide if that's what they prefer (clearly they do)

nelsraCsungaM77 is 77MagnusCarlsen backwards!
I do not know why FeegLood wants to stay anon as he played in a tournament with that account which revealed his identity. So I know for a fact who he is and it is funny how you're all guessing incorrectly!
If keeping your preparation secret is so important, I wonder why anonimity is so popular only in online chess. Maybe some of you would like to practice it also in real life chess. Imagine, you participate in a local tournament, own national championship or play as foreigner in Bundesliga, but treat all that not as no.1, but want to prepare really for World Cup qualifiers. So, wear some funny costume, wear a mask (now, with the pandemic, people are already used to the view of others using masks!), and remain anonymous... Why don't you?
That would be funny to see a FIDE tournament with some players hiding their identity in costumes of mechanical Turks, or similar...

And now - more seriously... I don't know if anonymity gives some advantage to players (mainly titled, as it is rather not preparation secret what makes a 1200 or 1500 rated player to remain anonymous :D), maybe, but it is obvious that it makes some disavantages for the community (e.g. flag tournaments won by unidentified three players). And in cases of lots of untitled anonymous players it definitely raises the risk of cheating or forum trolling (I guess everyone in Internet, even not heavy user, knows this ties).

IMHO all official lichess tournaments, leagues etc. should be available only for players not hiding their identity.
Being anonymous should be possible in lichess, but allowing only friendly games, and unofficial friendly tournaments.
With that in mind, maybe additionally titled players should be allowed to have 2 accounts - one official, one anonymous for training, but certainly with lichess Administration knowledge about a personal union between them.
Anonimity is also preferred in real life chess. Please look at en.chessbase.com/post/secret-championship-in-ukraine

It is just that it is way harder to keep it secret when players have to gather at some room.

Also there is a very big difference between playing 50 rated games which are recorded for everybody in real life chess in one year and playing 10.000 rated games which are recorded for everybody in online chess in one year at lichess . 10.000 is the number I play here per year at lichess but some do even better.

50 games/year don't reveal much about somebodies repertoire. 10.000 rated games/year on the other hand gives pretty much everything away.
