The Czech often is a Philidor in disguise.

If you don’t intend to play ...exd4 you have to start via a ...d6 move order.

If I was starting out again & wanted to play some Philidor defense for now' ... I would' Study young Alexander Alekhine's games he played it' well .Philidors Defense is very interesting with many Ideas abounding especially Kingside Attacks when IF Prepared correctly can be devastating @lgroene You still need especially early on to be understanding attacks on the f7 square so be careful ... Much more important is to learn some basics as well since you are rated bellow 1000 here on lichess . Read a book by I Chernev called logical Chess Move by Move & later another book by Neil Mcdonell called Logical Thinking In Chess
