Gukesh, Zhongyi Tan are Officially the World Championship Challengers

Congratulations to Gugesh D, great achievement, go on and don't stop! I don't understand those who say time control should be changed, number of games should be changed... Let's say it straight, the competition was 100% fair. Everyone had all their chances. Gugesh scored better than others playing with top level players, where everyone was willing to win, everyone fighting as hard as they could, with all their ambitions. That's an incredible result, and that's a 100% fair result. Did Caruana try his best? He did. Vidit, Nakamura, Firouzja - everyone was fighting for win, more or less successful. Every score point was super hard, and Gugesh proved to be the strongest here. Good luck in ongoing matches.

Congratulations to Gukesh! He won a very strong Candidates: there were so many players with 3+ wins, when commonly+3 is enough!
And also it's honour to Indians, because they show fair games with a lot of fights, with no contractual games. Very good. Chess crown may return to the motherland of chess and the most populated nation on the Earth !
Nepo lost it with to draws against Abasov. At his age that was the last chance
A very unstable situation here. With Carlsen having left and Gukesh having won the candidates tournament we are in a really unstable situation. Gukesh might win against Ding. And if he becomes World Champion, he would probably be beaten by Caruana or Nepo in the 2025 match... But however it goes, the situation is not very stable as they are suddenly like 10 potential World Champions currently. It's absurd.

If I were to name a few people who could definitely become a world champion, I would say Nepo, Fabi, Hikaru, Abdusattorov, maybe Pragg, maybe Vidit, maybe even Parham or Firouzja. It's pretty crazy to see how close it is. Tbh I didn't expect Gukesh to win until the final round.

In the WC match Gukesh-Ding I'll be rooting for Gukesh. Especially with the form Gukesh has been showing since Wijk aan Zee already, and Ding is not in form at all. Of course, things can definitely change.
