A draw is good for both players

In a recent team match I managed to pull out a draw trick which I learned a few months ago from the book "100 endgames you must know". I was very pleased with that trick in the game.

Here is the game on Lichess with Stockfish analysis :

Here is the blog post about it, including some amazing draw endgame studies :

wait one second, no, that would have been great,
I felt my position was stronger but did not find the idea,
saw the fork I mean, I know I did not play good moves
because im not feeling well and im kind of learning this pawn structure e4 e5 so Im playing with feeling today
using past memories I guess, so I did not see the whole picture
so to speak,
I did not find the concrete ideas, I know I can tell my position
was stronger but I did not find the ideas, the resolution of the plan so to speak It had a nice endgame however,
but there was a small amount of luck.
I mean there are moves which are bad, I shared it for the endgame because I dont like the game,
I dont like the move for example bishop h6,
I saw b4 but, I think its a bad game, except the endgame,
which is still bad but it has that nice outcome
I mean its losing opportunities, I almost let black equalize
or even win and then had to pull out that trick, so very bad game overall, because it was a very comfortable position
in the beginning with the pin and the space
I lost the feeling in move 21 and also in the early middlegame or late opening,, I should have used the dark squares betterno
but did not find that tactic,
then I allowed that tactic of knightxe4 but it was very risky because I did not what was happening I am playing like dizzy,
so, no, Im not happy with the game, its very cheap,
and ive played other bad games today, even worst,
like this one which ended in a draw as well
just awful, better not to share.

I was just wondering whether you looked at those variations, just sharing ideas.

It is good to be critical towards your own chess games, but being too critical can restrict your chess improvement and chess joy.
Just as in life, in chess it is good to be supportive towards yourself.
We can mourn about mistakes, but we can also look at it as a less on learned. From time to time it can be helpful to pat yourself on the back, giving yourself compliments.

You sacrificed your queen to make a draw. A lot of amateur players would never do that. You already have gone beyond those borders ! Congrats.

I liked your game. Thanks for sharing !
