Cheating possibly detectable?

I wanted to test if level 12 stockfish can beat level 8. To do this, I wanted to start a 30 minute game, open up analysis board, and play the top moves that it suggests.
will this say that i am cheating?
You will not be banned, however, you run the risk of losing because of "cheat detected". Edit: Just use two devices for your experiment, and make sure it is casual.
First of all as a side note, you seem to be confusing the difficulty level with the version number. The analysis board has Stockfish version 12, this is simply the most recent Stockfish version. If you play against the computer, you will still play against the most recent Stockfish (or maybe against Stockfish 11, not sure how often they update), but against a handicapped mode.

As for engine experiments, I guess the "cleanest" thing to do is create a BOT account. On a BOT account it is allowed to use engine assistance, that's what they're made for. So there you could for example run Stockfish on your computer and play against the lichess computer. (that would be a somewhat pointless match, full strength Stockfish on your computer will crush the lichess Stockfish, but sure if you want to see how such a game would look like, you can do that)
I am not sure what exactly would happen if you used the analysis board, probably nothing but even if something happened, as long as you use that BOT account it won't have any consequences.
