chess clock

I have this clock GARDE.
This is the best analogue chess clock.
Why would you play with analogue clock? You can't even play increment with that. :P

"Why...play with analogue clock?"

Because the design of digital clock really sucks.

When i buy a well designed chess set for about 300 bucks or more which is a pleasure for my eyes why should i then use clocks that look like some cheap kit from Radio Shack or from the former GDR that hurts my eyes?

I considered building my own but the body housing is a problem if it should look real good.

The clock should have an analog as well as an digital display mode, Bluetooth and perhaps WLAN interface and touchscreen.

And the body should be made of brushed aluminium or steel.

Perhaps gold, silver, black, bronze...

See http://fkm-lasersintering.de/en/selective-laser-sintering

Size half as the Garde.

Easy, intuitive configuration.

And just four mechanical buttons to operate. Two Hebel, one button to stop and one button for on/off.

OK, optional real wood body.

Perhaps Apple some day will build one ;-)

What you are describing is not exactly what I call an analogue clock. :D
Of course one can just build a digital clock that looks like analogue but has the advantages of a digital one. But I doubt there would be enough people buying that for it to be something that someone would do commercially.
I am pretty sure only a small minority of people wants to buy a chess set for 300 bucks. :D
karlgoethebier that sounds like one sweet clock!
I'd add some propellers and a cam, so that it can act like a drone and take a cool bird's eye video of the players.
Maybe even fly around a bit and look at the tournament...

"...I doubt there would be enough people buying that..."

Yep. Perhaps.

"...a small minority of people wants to buy a chess set for 300 bucks."

I'm not so sure. Many people spend much more.

It is easy: 150 the chessmen, 100 the board and 50 the box.

Was a gift for my 60th birthday.

And the quality still isn't flawless. Not premium.

But it will last for the rest of my live ;-)
