swiss and round tournament

There is exactly a 100 person difference between 200 people and 100 people.
Sorry my point was that as the number of events increases then numbers in each tend to drop. I don't know how many currently enter the tournaments or how much they would drop by. But the danger is that if numbers drop too much then you end up playing the same people time after time and so people will drift away to other sites (ItsYourTurn.com is a good example of this happening). Sometimes less choice is better.
This topic has been discussed in length a million times already. Lichess used to have swiss pairings. It was not very successful.

The amount of participants does matter for pairing times
I wouldn't be so sure that lack of Swiss tournament increases amount of arena players. People who don't like arena can play on other sites or don't play tournaments at all.

Or maybe Lichess developers made some research in the past ?

What was done the arena? To attract attention and to develop Liches. It's made of!!!
Now, Liches has a lot of fans. And now no matter how much to play people in tournaments with the system arena. Those who are accustomed to the arena and to continue to participate in them, with the advent of the Swiss and Round - people online to be added !!!
After all, look how many accounts created!! And plays not so much. And in the tournament Arena are usually involved 200-300 people.. And I think it definitely has more than 15,000 accounts.
I'm leaving this thread to lovlas. Explaining why swiss pairing is not good online is driving me nuts.
How, then, spend the Swiss tournaments on Chess. com if they are not popular?? And on Playchess?? And tournaments there are?! So what? Is it because they are held there because of Lichess this is not possible?! Surely the developers do not desire to regain even more players?? Become a unique platform for a wide range?!
But then, if it is not very successful, it will not really impact Arena, right ? You're wiping out your own arguments here.

I am not willing to play Swiss ; I find it too slow and I prefer Arena. But for some others it is the opposite. And therefore they either don't play tournaments or play somewhere else. Then, will Swiss take people out from Arena?
What is possible, so that the official Hourly/Daily/etc. aren't impacted too much, is to add Swiss only as an option for custom tournaments, for example.

If Swiss has already been added to lichess, what does it cost to put it back in place, (and this is a very sincere question), as you know how to make them?

@natello35
The tournament module was completely rewritten since then, and the old realization is incompatible with the current lichess codebase, AFAIK.
