King of the hill

Hi chess fans! Here is my first game on this variant. And I found very interesting, tactical tricks are required, like deflection, to achieve the main point of the game: to put you king at one of those classical central squares!
Any suggestions are very welcome!
Cheers

I'll preface a disclaimer: I'm usually at least in the top 100 for KOTH, but recently I've dropped below that, so take this with a grain of salt.

I find knights more important than bishops in general for this variant. It's good to play openings that you are familiar with so you can control the center.

Controlling the center before advancing the king is imperative. If you try to advance the king without controlling the center you will run into checks and your king will have to move backwards, wasting valuable tempi.

How much more points do I need to get into the top 100. Its my dream, lol
It's a little higher than 1800.

You will get there if you play openings you know and control the center.
Thanks, very instructive advices Dionysus God, I appreciate it.
