Feature Request: Ignore players with digits in the names

Since my comment gets buried, I repeat it. Free software is about user freedoms; there is no need to argue philosophy on this, when the feature request is deficient in the first place.

Since OP's feature request is more or less a personal thought on choosing certain type of users to play with, it is their responsibility to make a program/software regarding same instead of asking Lichess. Lichess makes features for all and they aren't like personal wish or whatsoever.
This is lunacy. There are a lot of players who are strong in the middle-game and endgame or are good at tactics who are subpar at openings, and a lot of players who cheat who don't have numbers in their name. There are probably more cheaters without numbers in their usernames than there are with numbers in their usernames.
And that is why I love lichess forums! Ahahaha
I miss that functionality that we had in the glory days of ICC. Besides it was bringing pretty funny surreal conversations. Having some spoiled brats doing a monologue like if they were alone in the room. lol

This logic would only make sense if you were the only person with the feature, which wouldn't be reasonable to implement nor fair. If the feature exists, many of the players will avoid them as well. And the "others" that will see them will be a fraction of the total player base, so the digit players will have to deal with longer wait times for no reason at all.

Even if that's not what you're asking for, that's going to be the effect. That's not fair at all to force people to make new accounts based on their usernames because even if some cheaters are blocked out, so will a larger portion of legitimate players. Cheaters tend to be more invested than the average player and are more likely to know the ins and outs of a website, so they will be more likely to know about the feature. So there's not any benefit to this, even if cheaters and digit usernames are correlated.

The same goes for the regular users. New users aren't going to know digits in their name will affect their visibility. They would have to wait longer for games and it doesn't make any sense to make new users create a second account after they discover the issue.

Regardless of whether there's a correlation between numbered users and cheaters, the friendly fire far outweighs the cheaters mitigated.
