hiding information; opponents name and rating + spectators of your game

I disagree,
I myself play a little worst with spectators but I think now
I do not feel that pressure anymore
I think It is good to deal with it to face it instead of avoiding it
after all in real life you have to see the person face not a tiny
nickname, so yes if u blunder u just blundered everybody blunders and if you make a beautiful combination u make a beautiful combination it is not a big deal
just play the game until u get accustomed to the nightmare.
Chess has a great deal of psychology, for example I am terrible at winning a won game because I just do not care about the game and I expect my opponent to resign, sometimes I erase this leak but sometimes It comebacks
but It is part of the game, psychology,
I dont play real life but I can imagine your opponent could make weird noises or something or having an uncomfortable stare, I mean this game resembles a war,
You cant really go so afraid,
if u play higher rating u play it, lower rating, lower rating,
it is part of the chess world.
Of course the idea can be implemented but It will not favour you in the long run, if you get scared by a number, then u do not have the strong personality to play chess imo, this is not just my opinion,
It is the way chess It is, It is unforgiven, I just lost a game thats why I know it, lol.
It is like getting accustommed to the russians and their anonnymous insults and their weird language, It is part of the chess world, You have to deal with impolite people just like in real life.
"Chess is for strong people, of strong character" Botvinnik
It's not about being scared by higher ratings, it's more about not taking lower-rated players as seriously.
I know, I have that problem too, well maybe Its a good idea
so you try to play all games the best, instead of thinking,
let us make a mess here, he is not gonna find it again,
I do not know, It is a game but It is kind of hard to take it seriously really but then you really do not have to if you do not want to, after all It is a game of perfect information,
I mean It depence on your approach of the game
there are two approaches the fun approach, the serious approach and somewhere in the middle, plus the scientific, artistic and so on but if u play for fun then it is good to know who u are playing and if u are a serious player u want all type of challenges and that includes uncomfortable information, rating, spectators and so on.
I'd like to see this added, obviously you should be able to see their rating if you go to their profile. This only applies to the game you're in. @Proof_07 This is irrelevant to cheaters.
If this feature is implemented, it should definitely be a toggle option. I, for one, like to see information (such as who is spectating the game, etc) while playing.
thank you all good sirs possible misses for your feedback.

i ran into some issues with the system i used to block ratings and also spectators.

the code(?) that i blocked resulted in the names of my friend being disabled in that window which shows their recent actions in forums, followings and tournaments. i am not sure the code is specific enough so that one could just drop the ratings, i.e. as it appears the name and ratings are linked. when i try to block it both names and ratings disappear and i did not see how to isolate one from the other.

i apologize for ambiguity as to how i would like to see this feature implemented. it was always my intention to see it as a toggle feature which did not effect how others saw your information unless they also have it toggled. i thought it may help keep a clean interface if the feature was hidden in the settings menu.

i am sorry for the confusion.
Hey lc, I created a small chrome extension that allows users to toggle the visibility of player names, ratings and spectator list.

chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lichess-hide/mgnmffmefjnmmpcbjmhepgclaaegcamj

I didn't spend much time on it so for now:
- The toggle button is added to the top bar; not in the Preferences page
- You cannot toggle names, ratings or watchers list individually. It's all or nothing.
- The connection status icon looks horizontally misaligned in the area on the right of the playing board when names are hidden.

Cheers
thank you so much good sir!
i like how it did not effect the action feed(upper left corner which notifies one of tournaments, follows and posts) of those your are following; i.e. i can still see peoples name where as before i was not able to with the option i tried.

thank you again!
now i can spend the time i need in my winning end games to find the correct moves rather than feeling dense that i can not see the winning moves and just making random moves out of frustration.
