Is no resigning and dont accept rematch a disrespect?

I was thinking about two things that make me sad: players who do not resign in completely lost positions and players who refuse to play rematch.
In both cases I think it is some kind of disrespect to your opponent. I dont know .. what do you think about that?
I don't think it's disrespect to refuse rematch. How do yo know if guy have time to play another game, maybe must go somwhere or is just tired. Another reason can be he/she feel you are too strong or too weak for him, or just don't like your playing style, there are tons of reasons to avoid rematch...
I don't think so.

I like to play even when I am in positions I know I have no hope of winning. I also feel it's more satisfying to checkmate the opponent instead of winning by abandon.

As for rematch, I don't like to play against the same person multiple times for different reasons I won't speak about so I refuse rematches 9 out of 10 times. There are many reasons why someone wouldn't accept a rematch (not enough time/being tilted/wanting to play with someone else/not liking playing against you/etc) and none of these has anything to do with disrespect.

Maybe it is not the same at your level and maybe I feel this way because I just started playing chess recently, but I don't think you should assume any kind of disrespect from your opponent if you don't know them.

Everyone like different things in chess and you will always meet people who will play/act in a way you don't like. Some people will act in the ways you talked about. Some will do so out of disrespect and some not.
We all have those things that annoys us about out opponents :)
You have to keep in mind that a lot of players, beginners especially, have no idea what a completely lost position looks like. They're down material, sure, but they don't know that it's futile. Not everyone is disingenuous.

Regarding the rematch thing, I don't hold it against anyone. We all have lives to live, and online chess isn't the end-all-be-all. If someone has to go or just doesn't want to play another round with me, it's not that big of a deal. There are a ton of opponents in the seek page.
You can be fair yet you cannot enforce your kind of fairness from everyone. If the majority of players is „against“ rematches and prefers to play rather single games - it is respectful to accept this.
In every other sport, not resigning is called fighting spirit and regarded as something positive.
Only in chess, many players have this blasé attitude, that fighting is respectless.
If your opponent does not resign, then you should checkmate him instead of complaining.
There is no reason why a player should be obliged to a rematch.
No disrespect, just bored about the idea of having the same opponent again.
To begin with, why would refusing a rematch be disrespectful?
I will attempt to explain the different scenarios of a rematch request to why it is not in the least disrespectful

1) Requesting a rematch upon losing completely
If your opponent does this, there is a high chance they would like to learn more from you

2) Requesting a rematch after a close defeat
This could mean that they feel they might win if they played a little better. Could be a challenge to them

3) Requesting a rematch after an easy victory
This could feel disrespectful, as if they were just trying to humiliate you. However, try to think of it as an interesting match for them. Sometimes I like to play a few matches against lower rated opponents to see how much I've progressed. You are definitely not obliged to accept the rematch it if you feel you can't win

4) Requesting a rematch after a close victory
This pretty reasonable, too. They might see you as good opponent to play against at their level, as well as try new strategies

Of course, there are times where it's obvious disrespect. Remember, you are never obliged to accept a rematch!
Neither is disrespectful with some exceptions. Generally speaking, you should just checkmate someone if they won't resign. Some folks like to shoot for a stalemate or some kind of drawing fortress from a worse position. Different people have a different resign threshold as well and that is also variable as in some games they resign over nothing and others they never resign. Some folks I have played where I win a piece clean... no resign... win the 2nd piece... no resign... win the 3rd piece then perhaps they think "Omg I was so gonna pull this out down 2 pieces, but I can't handle down 3"

As for a rematch not being accepted... You are not obligated to rematch anyone.

The only real exceptions to these being disrespectful is the following:

Non Resignation: If the person who won't resign is doing so from a game with long time controls and they intentionally burn down a lot of or all of their clock.

No Rematch: They agreed to rematches at some point and then renege without a really good reason.
